A little about me
My mission as a visual communicator is telling a story, not only with words, but also with compelling images. I began my journey in editorial publications and that informs my design still. The combination of the two is what really deepens the experience for the consumer of media products, and what keeps them coming back for a new story experiences.
Whether developing new products for journals, planners or greeting cards, curating, and recruiting new artist contributors, or facilitating parent-training workshops for art curriculum dissemination in the elementary school, I analyze and identify the best practices and most engaging experience for the end user. I like to break the mold, try new things, and search for new and lasting ways to engage people. As product development lead, I have expanded product lines, utilizing curated art in a myriad of stationary ancillary products. The result has been an expansion of the Amber Lotus product line, while maintaining the core of the company’s mission. I am currently the Design Director for the Amber Lotus Line of calendar products for Andrews McMeel Publishing.
I'm the author/illustrator of five coloring books for HarperElixir, an imprint with Harper Collins Publishing — Sacred Coloring books for Adults. This was such a fun and challenging project. Creating a full page illustration practically every day for 16 months. The focus of these books is a personal passion of my own. Finding the sacred in the ordinary. Nature & Symbol have consistently found their way into my work and this project shines a spotlight on those aspects of life.
